"My ethnic background makes me inherently suspect or threatening in certain spaces or situations."
How it sounds in your head: You're managing other people's fear. You make yourself smaller, less assertive, more palatable. You've learned to move carefully, speak softly, and it's demeaning. You're tired of being a threat by simply existing.
"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me, says the LORD."
-- Isaiah 54:17Enemy — uses fear and prejudice to make you SHRINK instead of STAND in your God-given authority.
You've been followed in stores, pulled over without cause, watched people cross the street. The fear in others' eyes is real, and it's exhausting to navigate.
Simeon and Levi MURDERED an entire city, and Jacob feared retaliation. But God's response? 'The TERROR OF GOD was upon the cities around them, and they did not pursue.' Even MURDERERS were PROTECTED by the covenant blessing. The fear others have is GOD'S doing, and it protects you.
I REFUSE the lie that I am inherently threatening or suspect. IT IS WRITTEN that no weapon formed against me will prosper, and every tongue that rises in judgment I SHALL CONDEMN. Their fear is their issue, not my identity. IT IS WRITTEN that when my ways please the Lord, He makes even my enemies at peace with me. The BARAK blessing surrounds me, and the TERROR OF GOD is upon those who would come against me. I don't shrink — I STAND. I am RIGHTEOUS by gift, BELOVED by covenant, and I walk with the authority of a SON. Their prejudice bows to God's truth.
Your Father sees you as powerful, not threatening — as a son, not a suspect. He's already positioned you as the head and not the tail, and anyone who can't see that is operating in blindness that isn't your burden to fix. Walk tall. You're PROTECTED, not problematic.
