"My emotions are too big and unmanageable for a man"
How it sounds in your head: You feel things too deeply. Other guys seem cool and detached; you're over here fighting tears at movies. You get angry fast, sad fast, excited fast—everything is turned up to 11. Real men have emotional control. You're more like a girl, and that's shameful.
"Jesus wept."
-- John 11:35World's toxic masculinity crushing the image of a God who FEELS intensely
Your dad or coaches told you to 'man up' when you cried. You've watched other guys stay stone-faced in situations that wrecked you emotionally, making you feel defective as a man.
David and his mighty men came home to find their city burned and families captured—they WEPT until they had no more power to weep. This is the warrior who killed Goliath, the king God called 'a man after My own heart,' sobbing without shame.
I REFUSE the lie that my emotional depth is feminine weakness. IT IS WRITTEN that JESUS WEPT—the Lion of Judah felt so deeply He cried in public. David, the warrior king, wept until he had NO MORE POWER to weep. My capacity to feel is the IMAGE OF GOD in me, not a defect to suppress. The BARAK blessing flows through a man who FEELS the Father's heart, not one numbed by religion's counterfeit masculinity. IT IS WRITTEN that I am BLESSED in the city and in the field, coming in and going out—my emotions don't disqualify me from that promise. I am a son who feels BIG because my Father feels INFINITE.
The Father isn't handing you emotional duct tape—He's celebrating that you feel like HE does. He's whispering, 'Son, your tears look like Mine. Your anger at injustice mirrors Mine. You're not too much—you're JUST LIKE ME.'
