"My driven, Type-A personality needs to be tamed before God can use me"
How it sounds in your head: I'm too intense. Too competitive. Too aggressive. Sermons say 'be gentle, lowly, meek.' I bulldoze people. I need to calm down, slow down, be less before God will trust me with more.
"But the Lord said to him, 'Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.'"
-- Acts 9:15Religion: misinterprets meekness as weakness, teaches suppression instead of surrender
You've been told you're 'too much' your whole life. Church culture celebrates the soft-spoken. You look at gentle pastors and think that's the model, but it's not YOU. You feel like you need a personality transplant to be godly.
Paul was so intense he 'persecuted the church' with murderous zeal, breathing threats. Jesus met him and didn't say 'tone it down'—He REDIRECTED that fire toward the Gospel. Paul stayed intense, aggressive, driven—wrote most of the New Testament BECAUSE of his wiring, not despite it.
I REFUSE the lie that my intensity disqualifies me. IT IS WRITTEN: Paul was 'breathing threats' and God called him a 'chosen vessel'—AGGRESSION AND ALL. My drive is not a flaw to fix—it's FUEL for the Kingdom when surrendered. IT IS WRITTEN: 'The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable.' He doesn't need me less—He needs me YIELDED. I am a BRANCH—I don't tame fruit, I ABIDE and He produces it. Under the BARAK, I am blessed with my EXACT wiring—above only, not beneath, lending not borrowing, in the city and the field.
The Father isn't asking you to become someone else. He's running toward you saying 'I MADE you intense for a reason—give Me the wheel and watch what I do WITH this fire, not without it.'
