"My decades of church attendance mean nothing if I wasn't sincere enough"
How it sounds in your head: I went to church my whole life, but looking back, I wonder if I was really sincere. Did I really mean it? Was I just going through the motions? What if God sees through it all and rejects me?
"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
-- Romans 10:9Religious performance anxiety that makes salvation about sincerity level, not Christ's finished work.
She's replaying decades of church services, trying to gauge her heart's sincerity level at every altar call, every prayer, every hymn. The enemy uses her honest self-examination as a weapon of doubt.
Denied Jesus THREE TIMES with cursing and swearing after three years of following Him. Yet Jesus restored him IMMEDIATELY after the resurrection with zero probation period and made him the foundation of the church. One failure didn't disqualify decades of calling.
I REFUSE the lie that my sincerity level determines my salvation! IT IS WRITTEN that if I confess Jesus as Lord and believe He rose from the dead, I AM saved—not 'might be saved if sincere enough.' I AM. Like Peter who denied Jesus and was INSTANTLY restored, my wobbles don't change His grip on me! IT IS WRITTEN that NOTHING can separate me from God's love—not doubt, not weak moments, not imperfect sincerity. I am held by HIS faithfulness, not mine!
The Father doesn't have a sincerity meter at heaven's gate—He has the blood of His Son covering you. Like Peter, whose worst failure came AFTER three years with Jesus, you're not disqualified by inconsistency. Jesus didn't reject Peter for denial; He made him a foundation. Your sincerity was never the foundation—HIS finished work was.
