"My daily medication routine proves I'm living by sight, not by faith like God wants."
How it sounds in your head: Second Corinthians says we walk by faith, not by sight. But I can SEE my pills every morning, and I KNOW I need them to function. Maybe I'm supposed to be trusting invisible faith instead of visible medicine. Am I choosing the physical over the spiritual?
"Then He said to Thomas, 'Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.'"
-- John 20:27Misapplication of 2 Corinthians 5:7, weaponizing a verse about trusting God's promises into condemnation for using tangible medical help.
The physical act of taking pills feels concrete and visible, while faith feels invisible and uncertain. The contrast makes him wonder if he's failing the biblical standard of faith-walking.
When Israelites were dying from snake bites, God told Moses to make a BRONZE SERPENT and put it on a pole - anyone who LOOKED at it (very physical, visible act) would live. God's healing came through seeing a physical object, not despite it.
I REFUSE the lie that medication is sight instead of faith! IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus gave Thomas PHYSICAL proof, and God healed Israelites through LOOKING at a bronze serpent - both physical acts that demonstrated faith, not opposed it! My pills are God's tangible provision, and taking them IS walking by faith in His goodness. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation in Christ. The BARAK blessing includes BOTH visible and invisible gifts. I trust my Father's provision in EVERY form - pills, prayers, and miracles - all flowing from His faithful hand!
Your Father isn't testing whether you'll choose invisible faith over visible provision - He's the One providing BOTH. He gave you eyes to see the pills and hands to take them, just as He gave you a spirit to trust Him. You're not choosing between faith and sight; you're exercising faith BY receiving His visible gifts.
