"My business failure proves I should have just been content with what I had"
How it sounds in your head: I had enough. I was secure. Then I got greedy and wanted more, and God took it all away to teach me contentment. I should have stayed small and grateful instead of reaching.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
-- Ephesians 3:20Religion: Teaches contentment means settling, making ambition incompatible with godliness
She had security before the business venture and lost it reaching for more. The failure feels like divine correction for wanting too much.
Solomon asked for wisdom, not wealth. God gave him wisdom AND riches and honor beyond what he requested, saying 'I have given you what you have not asked.' Abundance is God's initiative, not human greed.
I REFUSE the lie that my business failure was punishment for wanting more. IT IS WRITTEN that God does exceedingly abundantly above all I ask or think—abundance is HIS nature, not my greed. The BARAK blessing declares I will lend to nations and be above only—that's covenant promise, not selfish ambition. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus, meaning the Father isn't teaching me lessons through failure but preparing me for resurrection. I am the branch—reaching for more fruit is natural when connected to an abundant Vine.
The Father is running toward you with the ring and robe, not a lecture on contentment. He's been preparing abundance while you've been confusing His nature of 'more than enough' with your supposed greed.
