"God is punishing me through this failure for past sins or mistakes."
How it sounds in your head: I cut corners. I lied to that investor about the numbers. I was greedy and proud. God is teaching me a lesson by letting everything crash. This is what I deserve for my sin.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Religion teaching God uses failure as punishment, making Father into a cosmic karma enforcer instead of Redeemer.
He did cut corners. He did exaggerate to investors. He was proud about early success. The failure feels like divine justice, and church teaching says 'you reap what you sow.'
The thief had lived a life of crime, was literally being executed for his sins, and had zero time to 'clean up his life' or 'learn his lesson.' Jesus' response to simple faith? 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' Instant forgiveness, zero punishment, no process—just pure grace in his worst moment.
I REFUSE the lie that God is punishing me through this failure. IT IS WRITTEN: He has forgiven me ALL trespasses and nailed the record of wrongs to the cross. Every lie, every greedy moment, every corner cut—PAID FOR. There is NO condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, and I am IN CHRIST. The thief on the cross went from execution to paradise in one moment with zero punishment for a lifetime of crime. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus took the CURSE so I could have the BLESSING. This business closing isn't divine punishment—it's just a closed business. The Father isn't mad; He's running toward me with a robe and a ring.
The Father isn't using business failure to teach you lessons about sin—Jesus already taught that lesson on the cross and the grade was PAID IN FULL. He's not withholding because you cut corners; He's running toward you the same way He ran to the prodigal who blew everything on prostitutes, and He's celebrating your return to truth, not punishing your departure.
