"My brother got everything and I got left with scraps and broken promises."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone else in my family seems to get what they want—new phones, college funds, opportunities. I'm the one who always gets forgotten or told 'maybe later.' Even in my own house, I feel like the backup kid.
"And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
-- Galatians 3:29Source: Comparison spirit and family dynamics creating a victim identity that blinds you to covenant inheritance.
When you watch siblings get things you don't, or hear parents talk about one kid's future more than yours, the evidence feels concrete. The world's inheritance system is based on favoritism, birth order, and parental preference—so you assume God's works the same way.
Mephibosheth was crippled, hiding in poverty, convinced he'd lost everything because of his family's fall. King David found him and INSTANTLY restored ALL of Saul's land, gave him a permanent seat at the king's table, and provided servants to work his fields—not because Mephibosheth earned it, but because of covenant with Jonathan.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm the forgotten one or the backup child in God's kingdom. IT IS WRITTEN that if I am Christ's, I am Abraham's seed and heir according to PROMISE—not according to my family position or what looks fair. I am a covenant son with full access to the Father's entire estate right now. The BARAK blessing that protected and prospered liars, deceivers, and murderers flows over me because I'm in Christ. IT IS WRITTEN that I'm blessed coming in and going out, blessed in the city and the field, the head and not the tail. Every provision Heaven contains is already mine because I'm IN the Beloved Son, and what's His is mine.
The Father isn't comparing you to your siblings or measuring who deserves more—He's running toward you with the family ring, the robe, and the fattened calf because you're HIS. While you're still thinking like a servant, He's already throwing the party as a son with full inheritance rights activated by blood, not behavior.
