"My body is breaking down, and I'll never feel strong or capable again."
How it sounds in your head: You're not the man you used to be. The aches, the medications, the limitations—this is just decline from here. You can't do the physical things that used to define you. You're becoming a burden.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Source: World system that equates aging with obsolescence and medical industry that prophesies decline as inevitable.
The doctor appointments confirm it—high blood pressure, arthritis, things that don't work like they used to. You see it in the mirror and feel it in your joints. Your body is giving you daily evidence.
Hezekiah was sick to the point of death, and Isaiah told him to set his house in order because he would die. Hezekiah prayed, and before Isaiah left the courtyard, God sent him back with a message: 'I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. I will add fifteen years to your life.' Instant reversal of a death sentence.
I REFUSE the lie that physical decline is my destiny. IT IS WRITTEN that it is God's will that I prosper in ALL things and be in health. Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law—sickness, disease, and decay are IN that curse. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, already accomplished at the cross. I am an heir of the BARAK blessing that gave Abraham strength to father a child at 100. My body may show symptoms, but symptoms BOW to the finished work of the cross. I speak LIFE to these bones, STRENGTH to this body, and RENEWAL to every cell. I am blessed with long life and satisfaction.
The Father isn't resigned to your decline—He's running toward you with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, eager to quicken your mortal body. Like the prodigal who came home broken and was immediately RESTORED to full sonship, your Father doesn't see your aging body as a problem—He sees an opportunity to display resurrection power.
