"My body is betraying me. I'm falling apart, and no one wants someone this broken."
How it sounds in your head: The medications keep multiplying. Your body doesn't do what it used to. You have more doctor appointments than social events. You feel like a burden, like damaged goods. You look at couples and wonder who would choose someone who comes with this much physical limitation and medical baggage.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day."
-- 2 Corinthians 4:16Source: Enemy's accusation weaponizing physical decline, reinforced by culture that equates health with worthiness of love.
Every new diagnosis, every mobility loss, every canceled plan because your body won't cooperate feels like evidence that you're becoming unlovable. Society celebrates health and ability, and yours is declining in ways you can't control.
He was an invalid for 38 YEARS, lying by a healing pool with no one to help him into the water, completely without hope or options. Jesus asked one question and spoke one command, and IMMEDIATELY the man was made well—picked up his mat and walked after nearly four decades of paralysis.
I REFUSE the lie that my body's condition determines my lovability. IT IS WRITTEN that though my outward man is perishing, my inward man is being renewed day by day. My body is NOT my identity—I am the righteousness of God in Christ. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I am healed, and the man at Bethesda received INSTANT healing after 38 years of being an invalid. I am wrapped in the BARAK blessing that covers my health, and my Father sees me as WHOLE in Christ, regardless of what my body is doing. I am NOT a burden—I am BELOVED.
The Father isn't waiting for your body to qualify you for His love—He's running toward you WITH healing, not demanding you be healed first. Your limitations don't limit His affection, and He's holding you closer than ever, not pulling away.
