"My accent or the way I speak makes people think I'm less intelligent or capable."
How it sounds in your head: When I talk, I hear myself differently than everyone else sounds. They correct my grammar or make fun of how I say certain words. I feel stupid even when I have good ideas because of how I sound.
"Then Moses said to the Lord, 'O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.' So the Lord said to him, 'Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.'"
-- Exodus 4:10-12Religious spirit that elevates form over substance, prioritizing presentation over God's anointing and wisdom within you.
You've been interrupted, corrected, or mocked for how you speak. Teachers or peers have made you feel less-than because your voice doesn't sound like theirs. You've started staying quiet to avoid embarrassment.
A man with a speech impediment who argued he couldn't speak well became the voice that liberated millions. God didn't fix his stutter—He used it anyway, and Moses delivered the most quoted speeches in human history.
I REFUSE the lie that my voice or accent limits my intelligence or impact. IT IS WRITTEN that God made my mouth and will be WITH my mouth to teach me what to say. My words carry the anointing of Heaven regardless of how they sound to human ears. The same God who used a stuttering Moses to shake empires will use my voice to release His truth. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in my going out and coming in—that includes every conversation, every classroom, every moment I open my mouth. My words are powerful because HIS Spirit speaks through me.
The Father doesn't hear an accent—He hears the voice of His beloved son speaking with authority. He's not waiting for you to sound different; He's waiting to release miracles through the voice you already have.
