"Money is the root of all evil, so wanting financial success means I'm walking away from God."
How it sounds in your head: Every time I think about making more money or building wealth, I feel spiritually dirty. Like I'm choosing mammon over God. The fact that I want to provide better for my family feels like greed dressed up as responsibility.
"Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, 'Let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in His servant's prosperity.'"
-- Psalm 35:27Source: Religious misquote twisting 1 Timothy 6:10—churches weaponizing poverty as false humility while leaders lack nothing.
You've watched wealthy men fall into moral failure and heard 'money corrupted them' your whole life. When you desire financial breakthrough, shame floods in because religion taught you wanting provision equals loving money.
Abraham was called God's friend AND simultaneously 'very rich in livestock, silver and gold.' His wealth never disqualified his intimacy with God. The blessing made him wealthy because covenant WITH God includes material provision—it's part of the barak.
I REFUSE the lie that money is evil or that wanting to provide abundantly makes me carnal. IT IS WRITTEN that God takes PLEASURE in my prosperity. I am Abraham's seed through Christ—the barak blessing of provision is mine by COVENANT, not by poverty vows. My Father runs toward me with the fattened calf, the ring of authority, AND the resources of heaven. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus became poor so I might become RICH in every way. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and righteous men leave an inheritance for their children's children. Money is a kingdom tool in my hands, and I receive it WITHOUT SHAME.
Your Father is not testing your spirituality by keeping you broke—He's preparing to flood your storehouses like He promised. Right now, while you're reading this, He's already commanding blessing on everything you set your hand to because you're IN CHRIST, and that's where the blessed live.
