"Money is the root of all evil, so wanting financial success makes me worldly and un-spiritual."
How it sounds in your head: You're looking at college costs, thinking about what car you want, dreaming about having your own place someday—and then guilt hits. 'Real Christians don't care about money. If you wanted to serve God, you'd be content being broke.' Every financial goal feels like betraying Jesus.
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
-- 1 Timothy 6:10Source: Religion twisting 1 Timothy 6:10, using misquoted Scripture to keep believers poor and 'humble' while the world prospers.
Every youth group message about missions shows poor villages and says 'this is what matters,' making your dream of financial stability feel selfish. The adults who preach poverty drive nice cars and own homes, but they tell you wanting the same is 'loving the world.'
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold'—so wealthy it's specifically mentioned. God called him a friend and the father of faith WHILE he was extremely wealthy, proving money and godliness absolutely coexist.
I REFUSE the lie that money is evil or that wanting financial blessing makes me carnal. IT IS WRITTEN: 'The LOVE of money is a root of evil'—not money itself. My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and He wants me blessed in EVERY area including finances. IT IS WRITTEN: 'I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health'—prosperity is God's will for me. I am Abraham's seed through Christ, and the BARAK blessing of abundance, provision, and overflow is my covenant inheritance. I receive financial blessing WITHOUT GUILT because my righteous Father delights in prospering His children. Money in MY hands will fund the kingdom, bless my family, and demonstrate God's goodness.
Your Father is NOT mad that you want financial stability—He GAVE you those dreams. While religion makes you feel guilty for wanting a good income, your Father is already preparing resources, connections, and opportunities because the BARAK protects and prospers you by covenant, not by poverty vows.
