"Millionaires and billionaires are all greedy. Having lots of money will corrupt me."
How it sounds in your head: You hear adults say 'money is the root of all evil' and that rich people are selfish. You're afraid that if you want to be wealthy, you'll become a bad person or lose your faith.
"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
-- 1 Timothy 6:10Source: Religion's misquote of Scripture—'money is the root of evil' (actual verse says LOVE of money) combined with poverty gospel that demonizes wealth itself.
News shows rich people doing bad things, and church culture treats wealth with suspicion. It feels safer to stay poor than risk becoming corrupt or greedy.
Asked for wisdom instead of riches, and God was so pleased He gave him wisdom AND wealth—riches and honor beyond any king. God GAVE him wealth as a GIFT with no corruption attached.
I REFUSE the lie that wealth will corrupt me. IT IS WRITTEN that it's the LOVE of money that's evil, not money itself. I am the righteousness of God in Christ—a branch connected to Jesus CANNOT produce bad fruit. IT IS WRITTEN that God GIVES me power to get wealth to establish His covenant. Abraham was extremely wealthy and God's friend. Solomon had immeasurable riches as a GIFT from God. I am under the BARAK blessing, and wealth in my hands advances the kingdom. I will NOT live in fear of blessing.
Your Father isn't afraid of what money will do to you—He's the one giving you power to get wealth. You're His righteous son, and He trusts His own blood to keep you pure while you walk in abundance He designed for you.
