"Keeping emotional walls up is wisdom—vulnerability is what destroyed me in the first place."
How it sounds in your head: You let them in. You shared your struggles, your fears, your business plans, your marriage problems. And they used it all against you. Vulnerability isn't strength—it's suicide. Real men protect themselves. Keep it surface. Small talk only. Die with your secrets safe.
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."
-- Ezekiel 36:26Cultural masculinity lie—equating emotional fortification with strength, when Scripture calls it hardness of heart that blocks both human connection and God's voice.
The information you shared in vulnerability was weaponized against you—used in court, spread as gossip, leveraged for manipulation. It feels like proof that openness is dangerous and walls are survival.
God told Hosea to marry a prostitute who would betray him publicly and repeatedly—yet Hosea was commanded to keep his heart OPEN, keep pursuing her, keep loving vulnerably. God didn't say 'build walls'—He said 'love like I do, even when it costs everything.'
I REFUSE the lie that walls are wisdom. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives me a heart of FLESH, not stone—alive, feeling, capable of connection. My vulnerability wasn't the problem—the unsafe person was. I am NOT a man who shuts down—I am a man who loves like the Father, wisely but openly. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 34:18 that the LORD is near to those who have a broken heart—my openness attracts His presence, not disaster. The BARAK blessing over me includes divine connections and protection from toxic people. I am choosing a soft heart and wise discernment—not walls that block both pain AND joy. The Father is surrounding me with safe people who honor vulnerability.
The Father is weeping with you over the betrayal, and He's whispering, 'Don't let this steal your tender heart—that's where I live.' He's already bringing people into your life who will handle your heart like the treasure it is.
