"I'll never trust anyone again after what they did to me."
How it sounds in your head: You see your ex's Instagram with someone new and your stomach drops. Your best friend told everyone what you confided. Your dad promised to show up and didn't. Why risk that pain again?
"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up."
-- Psalm 27:10Enemy's strategy: isolate you after one wound so you miss every good thing God has for you through people.
The betrayal is fresh and the pain is real—every time you think about opening up, you feel that same knife twist. Your brain is literally trying to protect you by building walls, and isolation feels safer than vulnerability right now.
Mephibosheth was disabled, hiding in fear, convinced King David would kill him like all royal heirs after a coup—betrayal and political murder were guaranteed in his world. David INSTANTLY restored ALL of Saul's land to him, gave him a permanent seat at the king's table, and treated him like a son—immediate restoration, not earned.
I REFUSE the lie that I'll never trust again. IT IS WRITTEN that when even parents forsake me, the LORD takes me up. That betrayal was real, but it doesn't define my future. I am Abraham's seed, heir according to PROMISE, and the BARAK blessing positions divine connections in my path. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 that Jesus came to give me ABUNDANT life, and isolation is not abundance. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and safe people are coming because HIS nature is faithful, not because mine was perfect. The Father is running toward me with relationships that won't wound me.
The Father isn't waiting for you to 'heal enough' to trust—He's bringing trustworthy people TO you while you're still wounded. Like Mephibosheth limping to the king's table, you get the seat of honor BEFORE you're 'fixed,' because you're already His beloved son.
