"I've wasted my life energy on the wrong things and now it's too late."
How it sounds in your head: If I had used my younger years differently, served more, loved better, I'd have energy left. But I squandered my strength on worry, bitterness, people-pleasing. Now I'm empty and it's my own fault. No do-overs at this age.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy's condemnation mixed with religious scorekeeping that measures life value by productivity ledger.
She remembers decades of stress, unforgiveness, striving. She sees the physical toll of past choices. Regret feels like evidence of wasted opportunity, and her current fatigue feels like the bill coming due.
Manasseh reigned 55 years in evil—sacrificed his own sons, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, led Israel into abomination. Yet when he humbled himself in captivity, God heard his plea, IMMEDIATELY brought him back to Jerusalem, and restored him—decades of horror erased by grace in ONE MOMENT.
I REFUSE the lie that my past has disqualified my present. IT IS WRITTEN that God RESTORES the years the locust has eaten—He gives back what I thought was gone forever. There is NO condemnation in Christ, which means my regrets are not my identity. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:13 that Christ REDEEMED me from the curse—including the curse of wasted years. I am Abraham's seed; the BARAK blessing doesn't depend on my perfect stewardship but on His covenant faithfulness. Right now, this moment, Heaven's energy refills what the past depleted. Restoration is MINE.
The Father doesn't calculate your wasted years—He's already accounted them as RESTORED in Christ. Like the prodigal's father who had the fattened calf READY before the son even returned, your restoration was prepared before you recognized your need.
