"I need to fix my sleep, diet, and exercise before God can give me energy and breakthrough."
How it sounds in your head: You're doing this to yourself. Get disciplined. Fix your habits. Once you've proven you can manage the basics, THEN God will bless you. Your breakthrough is on the other side of self-improvement.
"For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."
-- Romans 5:6Religious works—making breakthrough contingent on YOUR performance and discipline.
Health culture says habits create energy. Self-help says you're one routine away from transformation. It feels responsible to fix yourself first before expecting God to move.
Man couldn't walk for 38 YEARS, had no one to help him into the healing pool, completely helpless. Jesus didn't give him a physical therapy plan or tell him to try harder—He said 'Rise' and IMMEDIATELY the man was made well and picked up his mat.
I REFUSE the lie that breakthrough waits for MY improvement. IT IS WRITTEN that when I was still WITHOUT STRENGTH, Christ died for me. He moves IN my weakness, not after I fix it. I am not saved, healed, or blessed by MY discipline—I'm blessed by HIS COVENANT. The invalid lay helpless 38 years and Jesus healed him with ONE WORD—no prerequisites, no process, INSTANT. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 2:8-9, 'By GRACE you have been saved through faith, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES; it is the GIFT of God, NOT OF WORKS.' The BARAK blessing flows to me RIGHT NOW, not after I earn it. God's not waiting—He's RUNNING toward me while I'm still weak.
The Father sees you exhausted and undisciplined and He's not waiting for you to get your act together—He's already releasing breakthrough WHILE you're weak because grace precedes improvement, not follows it. Prodigal got the feast, not a diet plan.
