"I've rejected God's conviction too many times - He stopped pursuing me."

How it sounds in your head: I've felt that pull to change and ignored it over and over. I've heard sermons that hit me right in the chest and walked out unchanged. I've felt the Holy Spirit and grieved Him repeatedly. There's only so many times God will try before He gives up on someone.

Jeremiah 31:3

"The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.'"

-- Jeremiah 31:3
Enemy whispers: You rejected Him too many times. He stopped pursuing. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Jeremiah 31:3 - 'I have loved you with an EVERLASTING love.' Not 'until you resist too much,' EVERLASTING. His pursuit isn't contingent on your response rate. Every conviction you've felt is PROOF He's still drawing you, not evidence He's done. If He stopped, you wouldn't feel anything - the fact you're concerned means He's PRESENT.
Quick Truth: LIE: Rejected too many times, He quit. TRUTH: Loved with EVERLASTING love - pursuit has no limit (Jer 31:3).

Religious teaching that divine pursuit has a limit and repeated resistance results in abandonment.

Why this feels true:

He can remember specific moments of clear conviction that he deliberately ignored, and the cumulative weight of repeated resistance feels like it must have exhausted God's patience. The hardness he sometimes feels seems like evidence of being given over.

Jonah 1:1-3, 3:1-2
Jonah

Jonah didn't just reject God's call once - he RAN in the opposite direction, got swallowed by a fish, vomited on a beach, and STILL initially resisted. God came AGAIN with the same assignment: 'Arise, go to Nineveh' - second chance immediate, no guilt trip, same calling unchanged.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that God's pursuit has a limit I've reached. IT IS WRITTEN in Jeremiah 31:3 that He loves me with an EVERLASTING love - not 'until you resist too much' but EVERLASTING. The enemy wants me to believe repeated resistance depletes divine patience, but every conviction I've felt is PROOF of His continued presence. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 2:4 that His GOODNESS leads to repentance - He doesn't guilt me into change, He loves me into it. Jonah ran from God and got a SECOND chance. Peter denied Jesus and got BREAKFAST and restoration. Israel rejected God for CENTURIES and He kept sending prophets. The BARAK blessing wasn't withdrawn despite generations of rebellion - my Father's pursuit isn't conditional on my response speed.

But God actually:

Your Father hasn't stopped pursuing you - every moment of conviction you've felt recently is evidence He's ACTIVELY drawing you right now, and He has no 'three strikes' policy. His lovingkindness is the magnet that keeps pulling, regardless of how many times you've resisted before this moment.
