"I've pushed people away my whole life; I don't deserve to be pursued or fought for now."
How it sounds in your head: You know what you did. Every time someone got close, you sabotaged it. Every time vulnerability was required, you retreated. You've been the common denominator in decades of failed connection. You MADE people give up on you. This isolation is justice.
"How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I set you like Zeboiim? My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred."
-- Hosea 11:8Enemy twisting self-awareness into self-condemnation; suggesting God operates on 'deserve' rather than covenant love and scandalous grace.
You can LIST the relationships you sabotaged, the moments you chose distance over risk. The pattern is undeniable and YOU caused it. Deserve feels like the only honest framework.
Denied Jesus THREE TIMES publicly, ran away, went back to fishing like it never happened—Jesus cooked him BREAKFAST on the beach, pursued him specifically, restored him with three questions of love matching the three denials. Immediate pursuit of the one who pushed away hardest. No process, no proving, just 'feed My sheep.'
I REFUSE the lie that pushing people away disqualified me from being pursued. IT IS WRITTEN: God's heart CHURNS over me, His sympathy is STIRRED—not because I deserve it, but because HIS nature can't stop. My Father didn't wait for Peter to stop running before pursuing him—He cooked him BREAKFAST. He's not waiting for me to stop self-sabotaging before He fights for me; He's RUNNING toward me NOW, mid-pattern, mid-failure. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with the BARAK that protected JACOB THE RUNNER, JACOB THE DECEIVER. IT IS WRITTEN: nothing can separate me from the love of God in Christ. I didn't push Him away. I CAN'T. His love is too fierce. I receive His relentless pursuit RIGHT NOW.
While you were STILL running, while you were STILL pushing away, while you were STILL sabotaging—He was already running faster toward you. His heart churns. He cooked breakfast. He's not waiting for you to stop the pattern; He's interrupting it with PRESENCE.
