"I've lied to my parents' faces and now God can't trust me with anything."
How it sounds in your head: I looked my mom right in the eye and lied. Multiple times. About things that matter. I've lost their trust and probably God's too. How can He use me or give me anything when I've proven I'm a liar? Trust once broken can't be repaired.
"If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself."
-- 2 Timothy 2:13Religious teaching that God's ability to use you is based on your trustworthiness record rather than His faithfulness and transforming power.
You HAVE lied, and you've seen how broken trust creates distance in human relationships. You naturally assume God operates the same way—that His willingness to bless you is tied to your honesty record.
Abraham LIED to Pharaoh, saying Sarah was his sister to save his own skin. God plagued Pharaoh to protect Abraham the LIAR, and Abraham left RICHER. Then Abraham did it AGAIN with Abimelech—same lie. God still protected him, enriched him, and called him 'friend of God.' The blessing wasn't based on his honesty.
I REFUSE the lie that my lies disqualify me from God's trust. IT IS WRITTEN that if I am faithless, He remains faithful—He CANNOT deny Himself. His willingness to use me and bless me is based on HIS faithfulness, not my track record. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 3:3-4 that my unfaithfulness does NOT nullify God's faithfulness. Abraham lied TWICE and was still called 'friend of God.' I am NOT defined by my lies but by the TRUTH of who God says I am. The BARAK blessing protected LIARS in the Old Covenant—how much MORE am I covered in the BETTER covenant? I AM TRUSTED BECAUSE HE IS TRUSTWORTHY.
Your Father isn't withholding blessing until you prove yourself trustworthy. He's the one who used Abraham the liar, Jacob the deceiver, and Peter the denier to change the world. His trust in you is based on His character, not your history. He's already saying 'I believe in this one.'
