"I've had my turn at financial blessing; now I should decrease so others can increase."
How it sounds in your head: You've lived a long life. You've had your opportunities. Surely at this stage, the godly thing is to step back, make room, let the younger generation have their turn at blessing. Like John the Baptist said, 'He must increase, I must decrease'—maybe that applies to you now financially. Your season has passed.
"The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it."
-- Proverbs 10:22Religion misapplies 'decrease' scriptures to justify lack, teaching self-diminishment as spirituality—denying that the RIGHTEOUS flourish like palm trees and bear fruit in OLD AGE.
You've watched your role in life shrink, your influence decrease, your activity reduce—it feels natural that finances would follow the same trajectory. The 'decrease' language sounds humble and spiritual, making acceptance of lack feel like maturity.
Scripture says Abraham was OLD, well advanced in age, and the LORD had BLESSED Abraham in ALL THINGS. Old age didn't diminish blessing—it accompanied it. He died 'full of years' and WEALTHY, never releasing blessing to make room for others.
I REFUSE the lie that I must decrease financially so others can increase. IT IS WRITTEN that the blessing of the LORD makes rich and adds NO SORROW—not for a season, but as COVENANT INHERITANCE. Abraham was blessed in ALL THINGS in OLD AGE. The righteous bear FRUIT in old age, fresh and flourishing. My blessing doesn't diminish another's—God's economy is MULTIPLICATION, not rationing. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation in Christ Jesus. I am Abraham's seed, heir of the BARAK blessing that INCREASES through generations. I receive continued provision, increase, and abundance in these years without guilt or apology.
Your Father isn't running a blessing rotation where elderly saints must vacate their provision to make room for the young. He's the Father who blessed Abraham in ALL THINGS in old age—because covenant blessing doesn't retire, doesn't diminish, doesn't expire with time.
