"I've committed the unforgivable sin and God has turned His back on me forever."
How it sounds in your head: After all these years as a Christian, I said that thing in anger. I felt such darkness in my heart during that bitter season. Now I wonder if I crossed a line God can't overlook. Maybe my doubts and anger at Him when my husband got sick were the final straw.
"Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."
-- Hebrews 7:25Source: Religious teaching that weaponizes Mark 3:29 to create fear, stripping context that the Pharisees attributed the Holy Spirit's work to Satan repeatedly, refusing to repent—the opposite of someone worried they've committed this sin.
At this age, you're reviewing your whole life, and every failure feels magnified. The very fact you're WORRIED about this proves you haven't committed it—those who truly blaspheme the Holy Spirit have no concern about it whatsoever.
Manasseh sacrificed his own sons to demons, practiced sorcery, consulted mediums, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and led an entire nation into abomination for 55 years. When he finally humbled himself in captivity, God INSTANTLY heard him, brought him back to Jerusalem, and restored him—proving no sin is beyond forgiveness for the repentant.
I REFUSE the lie that I've committed an unforgivable sin. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus saves to the UTTERMOST, and I am included in that promise. My very concern proves the Holy Spirit is still at work in me. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I am forgiven—not because of my perfection but because of His blood. The BARAK blessing of Abraham covers me completely, just as it covered liars, deceivers, and murderers in covenant. I stand in the BETTER covenant sealed by better promises. I am FULLY forgiven, COMPLETELY loved, and FOREVER His.
The Father sees your worry and runs toward you with the robe of righteousness already in His hands. If Manasseh—who burned his children as offerings—could be forgiven and restored, how much more are you covered by the better blood of Jesus?
