"I've been dishonest in business—cut corners, fudged reports, screwed people over. God can't bless a career built on deception."
How it sounds in your head: You know what you did to get ahead. The contract you didn't honor. The partnership you sabotaged. The employees you cheated. The taxes you dodged. You built this career on a foundation of lies, and now you're supposed to believe God wants to bless it? You'd have to burn it all down and start over to have a clean slate.
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."
-- Ezekiel 36:26Performance-based theology that says blessing requires a spotless record, denying the scandalous grace of covenant.
His professional success is intertwined with compromise, and he can't separate the legitimate from the illegitimate. The guilt creates a ceiling he feels he doesn't deserve to break through.
Jacob deceived his blind father Isaac with elaborate lies, stole Esau's blessing through fraud and manipulation. When Isaac discovered it, he trembled but declared 'I have blessed him—and he SHALL BE BLESSED'—the blessing was irrevocable despite the deception.
I REFUSE the lie that my business deception disqualifies me from blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives me a NEW heart, a NEW spirit—not a rehabilitated one earned through penance. Jacob built his wealth on deception, yet God said 'I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac'—claiming the deceiver as His own. The BARAK blessing protected Jacob THROUGH his deception because it's covenant-based, not conduct-based. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse so blessing flows NOW, not after I've made amends for every business compromise. I receive the NEW heart NOW and walk in blessing NOW.
The Father isn't waiting for you to forensically audit your career and make restitution before He blesses you—He's ready to pour out provision NOW that overwhelms the compromises of the past. He's not asking you to burn it down and start over; He's offering to redeem it and multiply it beyond what deception ever could have produced.
