"I've asked too many questions that have no good answers."
How it sounds in your head: Why do children die? Why does God seem absent in genocide? Why the silence when I've prayed for decades? The theodicy arguments don't satisfy anymore, and the pat answers feel hollow. Maybe there ARE no good answers.
"Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not."
-- Job 42:3Enemy + trauma: Satan uses unanswered suffering to poison trust; religious people gave trite explanations that wounded instead of healed.
She's lived long enough to watch innocent suffering without resolution, prayed prayers that seem unanswered, and buried people who deserved healing. The explanations she was given feel like Band-Aids on amputations.
He screamed at God, 'How long shall I cry and You will not hear? Why do You show me iniquity and cause me to see trouble?' God's answer didn't resolve the problem but revealed His sovereignty. Habakkuk moved from demanding answers to declaring 'Yet I will rejoice in the LORD' (3:18). Trust without resolution.
I REFUSE the lie that unanswered questions equal an untrustworthy God. IT IS WRITTEN that there are secret things that belong to the Lord and revealed things that belong to me - and what's REVEALED is His love demonstrated at the cross. I don't need to understand His ways to trust His heart. IT IS WRITTEN that Job never got explanations but he got God Himself, and he declared 'I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.' My questions don't disqualify His goodness. I can wrestle and rest simultaneously.
The Father isn't offended by your hardest questions - He held His own Son on a cross while darkness covered the earth and didn't explain why to anyone watching. He doesn't owe you explanations, but He's given you Himself, and that's the only answer that ultimately satisfies.
