"If I keep studying these doubts, I'll lose my faith completely and it'll be too late to come back."
How it sounds in your head: Every documentary I watch makes me doubt more. I feel like I'm on a slippery slope and if I keep going I'll end up atheist. Maybe I should stop asking questions before I go too far and can't return.
"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
-- John 8:32Enemy creating fear that seeking truth will lead away from God, when Jesus IS truth and invites investigation.
He's seen testimonies of people who deconstructed and left the faith. The pattern seems to be: ask questions, then leave. He's afraid he's on that same path.
Jacob WRESTLED with God all night, refusing to let go until he got answers and a blessing. God didn't punish him for wrestling—He BLESSED him, changed his name to Israel ('wrestles with God'), and made him father of a nation!
I REFUSE the lie that seeking truth will destroy my faith! IT IS WRITTEN that knowing the truth makes me FREE, and Jesus IS truth, so investigation leads TO Him! There is no point of no return—IT IS WRITTEN that whoever comes to Jesus He'll never cast out! Jacob WRESTLED with God all night and got BLESSED, not cursed—God can handle my wrestling! I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing doesn't break because I ask hard questions. The Father isn't afraid of my investigation—He's been waiting for me to seek deeply enough to find the treasure!
The Father isn't worried you'll seek too much truth and lose Him—He IS the truth, so honest seeking always leads home. He's excited you're digging deep enough to find Him at the foundation.
