"It's too late to choose a different major—you're stuck with the career path you picked at 18."
How it sounds in your head: You're already three years into this degree. Switching now means more debt, more time, explaining to everyone why you're starting over. Your parents will be disappointed. You'll graduate even later than you already are.
"A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps."
-- Proverbs 16:9Source: World system that treats early decisions as binding contracts and values efficiency over destiny.
The financial and time cost of changing is real. Society punishes pivot stories and rewards linear paths.
Moses spent 40 YEARS trained as Egyptian royalty—wrong nation, wrong career, wrong identity. At 40 he fled to the desert and spent ANOTHER 40 years as a shepherd—total career reset at midlife. At 80, God used BOTH the palace training AND the wilderness experience to deliver Israel.
I REFUSE the lie that early decisions lock me into wrong destinies. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord DIRECTS my steps, not my 18-year-old self's limited perspective. Father has been positioning me through every class, every internship, every 'mistake' toward the intersection where my passion meets His provision. I am Abraham's seed—the BARAK blessing doesn't require a perfect transcript or a straight path. IT IS WRITTEN in Jeremiah 29:11 that God's plans for me are good, to give me a FUTURE and a HOPE—and that includes career pivots, late changes, and divine redirects that make perfect sense later.
Father isn't frustrated by your pivot—He's been engineering it, and every 'wasted' credit hour was actually intel for your real assignment. Like the prodigal, the direction change isn't starting over; it's coming HOME to what He had ready all along, and it's going to fit like you were born for it.
