"Innovation is only for the young. Older generations should just preserve what was."
How it sounds in your head: You're told, 'That's great for you young guys, but we need to protect the foundations.' As if age means you're supposed to become a museum curator instead of a pioneer. Like creativity has an expiration date and maintenance is all that's left.
"Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
-- Isaiah 43:19Source: Cultural lie that innovation belongs to youth and preservation to age, stealing the creative mandate God gives EVERY generation regardless of age.
Society celebrates young tech founders, young artists, young disruptors. Older voices are invited to panels about 'the old days,' not strategy sessions for the future. The pattern is everywhere—youth creates; age maintains.
Abraham was 75 years old when God told him to LEAVE everything familiar and pioneer a completely new path. He became the father of faith and nations at an age when most settle into retirement. His greatest innovation came in what culture calls 'old age.'
I REFUSE the lie that innovation expires with youth. IT IS WRITTEN that God does a NEW thing without age restrictions—Moses pioneered at 80; Abraham at 75. Creativity is a fruit of the SPIRIT, and the Spirit doesn't retire. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed with the BARAK covenant—the Lord commands blessing on my storehouses and ALL I set my hand to, at EVERY age. I don't shift from creation to preservation mode. I CREATE, PIONEER, and INNOVATE because the same God who said 'Let there be light' lives in ME, and He's ALWAYS making things new.
The Father isn't shuffling older believers to the archives—He's DOWNLOADING fresh blueprints, new strategies, and innovative assignments to those whose roots run deep enough to sustain what the young can't yet steward. He's running toward EVERY generation with the scroll marked 'NEW THING.'
