"Infertility is punishment for my sexual sin before marriage."
How it sounds in your head: I wasn't pure. I slept around in college. I watched porn for years. I treated women like objects. Now the one woman I want to honor and build a family with—I can't give her children. This is justice. I'm reaping what I sowed.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
-- 1 John 1:9Source: Religious teaching of sowing/reaping as karma + shame-based purity culture weaponized.
Sexual sin carries deep shame, and when consequences appear in the area of sexuality/reproduction, the narrative of 'payback' feels like obvious cause-and-effect, especially when purity culture taught that sin damages you permanently.
David committed adultery with Bathsheba and murdered her husband Uriah. After judgment and repentance, Bathsheba conceived SOLOMON, whom God loved and named Jedidiah ('beloved of the Lord')—proof that God redeems sexual sin and births purpose from what the enemy meant for destruction.
I REFUSE the lie that infertility is punishment for past sexual sin. IT IS WRITTEN that if I confess my sins, He is faithful to forgive AND cleanse from ALL unrighteousness. David committed adultery and murder, yet Solomon—born from Bathsheba—became the wisest king and Messianic line. My past is under the blood of Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Christ redeemed me from the CURSE of the law. I am not reaping judgment; I am blessed under the Abrahamic covenant. My children will be blessed, and my past is powerless against God's promise.
The Father isn't keeping a record of past sexual sin to punish you with infertility. The blood of Jesus doesn't partially cleanse—it makes you WHITE AS SNOW, and He's running toward you with the robe of righteousness, ready to give you the family you think you forfeited, because mercy triumphs over judgment.
