"I'm too young and stupid to be trusted with financial decisions now."
How it sounds in your head: This loss proves I don't have the maturity or wisdom for money management. Adults were right—I should just stick to what I'm told until I'm way older. I can't trust my own judgment about finances anymore.
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
-- 1 Timothy 4:12Agreement with 'too young, too inexperienced, disqualified by age' limiting beliefs from worldly wisdom.
The loss seemingly validates adult warnings about inexperience, and comparison to 'successful' adult investors reinforces age-based disqualification. Female youth especially internalize messages about needing male/elder financial oversight.
Josiah became king at EIGHT YEARS OLD—before most people finish elementary school. He led the nation back to God, found the lost Book of the Law, and 'did what was right in the sight of the LORD' as a CHILD.
I REFUSE the lie that my age disqualifies me from financial wisdom and blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that I let no one despise my youth, and that includes the voice in my own head. David was a TEENAGER when God used him to defeat giants that adults feared. Josiah was EIGHT when God trusted him to lead a nation. I am not too young to carry God's favor and wisdom. IT IS WRITTEN in James 1:5 that if I lack wisdom, I ask God who gives LIBERALLY without reproach. My Father doesn't say 'come back when you're older'—He says 'Come boldly to the throne of grace' NOW (Hebrews 4:16). The BARAK blessing doesn't have an age minimum—it's covenant, and I qualify through CHRIST, not through years.
While the world says 'wait until you're older and wiser,' the Father is handing you the same trust He gave 8-year-old King Josiah. He doesn't withhold based on birthdays—He pours out based on relationship, and you're His DAUGHTER.
