"God won't bless me financially now because I was reckless with what I had."
How it sounds in your head: You were a bad steward. You didn't honor what God gave you, so why would He give you more? The Bible says 'faithful in little, faithful in much'—you failed the test. You have to prove yourself trustworthy over years before God will trust you with resources again.
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
-- Matthew 6:26Source: Religious teaching that positions God's provision as reward for faithful stewardship instead of recognizing blessing flows from sonship and covenant, not financial track record.
He knows the 'faithful in little' verse and feels condemned by it. Church culture constantly emphasizes 'stewardship tests' and 'proving yourself faithful,' creating a performance-based provision theology where his loss becomes evidence that God withdrew blessing and won't return it until he earns it back.
The prodigal literally WASTED his entire inheritance on prostitutes—the definition of reckless stewardship. The father's response wasn't probation or proving himself—it was RING (authority), ROBE (identity), SANDALS (sonship), FEAST (celebration)—FULL RESTORATION in minutes, not years, because of RELATIONSHIP, not management skills.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds blessing because I was reckless with money. IT IS WRITTEN that the Father feeds birds who don't sow or reap, and I am worth MORE than birds—provision comes from RELATIONSHIP, not performance. The prodigal blew EVERYTHING on prostitutes and got FULL RESTORATION in 15 minutes. IT IS WRITTEN that if earthly fathers give good gifts, how much MORE does my heavenly Father give to me. The BARAK protected Jacob the DECEIVER and Judah who slept with his daughter-in-law—blessing isn't earned by stewardship. I am a SON, not an employee on probation. My Father runs toward me with resources, not waiting for me to prove anything.
The Father isn't reviewing your investment choices before deciding if you qualify for the next blessing—He's loading your account RIGHT NOW because good Dads don't withhold provision based on past mistakes; they overflow toward their kids simply because they're THEIRS. Your stewardship score doesn't move Him; your sonship does.
