"I'm too young and messed up for God to use me now."
How it sounds in your head: I'm only 12 and I've already looked at things I shouldn't have. I've lied to my parents. I've been mean to other girls. God probably wants me to wait until I'm older and better before He can do anything with me.
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
-- 1 Timothy 4:12Source: Religion teaching that God only uses 'mature' or 'proven' believers, plus enemy capitalizing on shame from early exposure.
She sees adults in ministry and thinks she has to earn her way there through years of good behavior. Early shame from internet exposure or peer pressure makes her feel disqualified before she even started.
Josiah became king at age 8 and at age 16 began to seek God and purge idolatry from the entire nation. God didn't make him wait until he was 'mature enough'—a TEENAGER reformed an entire kingdom instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too young or too broken for God to use me RIGHT NOW. IT IS WRITTEN that God told Jeremiah 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations'—and Jeremiah was a YOUTH. I am not disqualified by my age or my mistakes. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no condemnation for me in Christ Jesus. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in ME, and He doesn't wait for birthdays. I am Abraham's seed, heir according to promise, and the BARAK rests on me NOW. God is running toward me with the robe and ring while I'm still smelling like my mistakes.
The Father sees you exactly as you are—12 years old, confused, exposed to things too early—and He's RUNNING toward you with assignment and identity, not waiting for you to grow up. While religion says 'wait your turn,' the Kingdom says 'Your time is NOW.'
