"I'm too type-A and controlling - I need to be more easygoing to trust God."
How it sounds in your head: I make lists, plan everything, need things organized. People say I need to 'let go and let God,' like my planning proves I don't trust Him. Maybe control is my sin.
"Then the king said to me, 'What do you request?' So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to the king, 'If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that I may rebuild it.'"
-- Nehemiah 2:4-5Religious teaching that mistakes stewardship for control, making intentionality seem like faithlessness.
She's heard 'stop trying to control everything' in every sermon about trust. Her organizational gifts feel like spiritual failure instead of divine wiring.
Nehemiah didn't just pray about rebuilding walls - he showed up with blueprints, budgets, and timelines. The king granted EVERYTHING he asked for instantly because faith looked like PREPARATION.
I REFUSE the lie that planning means I don't trust God. IT IS WRITTEN that Nehemiah prayed AND presented detailed plans, and God blessed both. My organizational gifts aren't sin - they're STEWARDSHIP. IT IS WRITTEN in Proverbs 21:5 that diligent plans lead to abundance. I am IN CHRIST (Colossians 2:10), complete and equipped to strategize. The BARAK blessing flows through my planning - I lend, not borrow (Deuteronomy 28:12). I am HEAD not tail because I use the mind God gave me.
The Father isn't frustrated by your lists - He's PROUD. He made you a builder, and He's running toward you with projects that NEED your precision.
