"I'm too tired to hear God's voice anymore. The anointing has lifted."
How it sounds in your head: I used to hear Him so clearly. Words of knowledge flowed. Now I sit in silence and feel nothing. Is He still speaking, or have I lost the connection in my old age?
"For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"
-- Hebrews 13:5Religious experience made feelings the measure of God's presence instead of covenant promise.
Your physical senses are dulling. Your mind isn't as sharp. The dramatic spiritual experiences of younger years feel distant, so you assume God has pulled back.
Simeon was old, waiting for the Consolation of Israel. The Holy Spirit was UPON him, revealed to him he wouldn't die until he saw the Messiah, and prompted him the exact day to go to the temple. God's voice and Spirit were fully active in his old age.
I REFUSE the lie that I've lost the anointing. IT IS WRITTEN that He will NEVER leave me nor forsake me. His presence isn't dependent on my feelings or mental sharpness. Simeon was old and the Holy Spirit was UPON him, spoke to him, and led him perfectly. IT IS WRITTEN in Joel 2:28 that old men will dream dreams—God's Spirit is ACTIVE in the elderly. The BARAK blessing includes divine direction. My Father's voice is still speaking; I receive His words now.
Father is saying, 'Sweet daughter, I haven't gone silent—you've been listening for the old frequency. I'm speaking in whispers now, in rest, in peace. You don't need to perform to hear Me. I'm closer now than ever.'
