"I'm too sensitive and emotional - I need to toughen up to be strong in God."
How it sounds in your head: I cry too easily. I feel everything so deeply it hurts. Strong Christians are supposed to have thick skin, but I'm like tissue paper. Maybe I'm just weak.
"Jesus wept."
-- John 11:35Worldly definition of strength that equates feeling deeply with fragility, making tenderness seem like failure.
She's been told 'don't be so sensitive' her whole life. Culture celebrates toughness while her heart breaks over everything, making her feel defective.
Jesus wept openly at Lazarus's tomb, feeling grief deeply even though He knew He'd raise him minutes later. His emotional depth didn't delay the miracle - it PRECEDED it.
I REFUSE the lie that my sensitivity is weakness. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus wept openly, feeling everything fully without shame. My emotions aren't a flaw - they're a FEATURE. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 56:8 that God keeps my tears in a bottle - He TREASURES what I feel. I am positioned IN CHRIST (Romans 8:1), under NO CONDEMNATION for crying, feeling, breaking. The BARAK blessing flows through my tender heart, making me compassionate like the Father. I am STRONG because I FEEL, not despite it.
The Father isn't rolling His eyes at your tears - He's COLLECTING them. He made you tender on purpose, and He's running toward you to hold every emotion you've been told to hide.
