"I'm too old to start over or pivot; I'm locked into my current path."
How it sounds in your head: I have a mortgage, kids, responsibilities. I can't just blow it up and start fresh like a 23-year-old. The window has closed. This is my life now—make peace with it.
"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
-- Isaiah 43:18-19Enemy's lie that provision is tied to current circumstances instead of covenant with God.
Financial obligations feel like chains, career changes seem reckless with dependents, his résumé is 'too specialized,' starting over feels irresponsible. Every pivot story he sees is about someone younger.
At 80 years old, after 40 years as a forgotten shepherd in the wilderness, Moses received the call to deliver millions. His greatest work started at an age when most are dying, not delivering.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too old to pivot or start fresh. IT IS WRITTEN: God will do a NEW THING, and it will spring forth NOW. I am not locked into ANYTHING except covenant with God. IT IS WRITTEN: I am blessed in the city and in the field—wherever He leads, provision FOLLOWS. The BARAK blessing isn't tied to my current job—it's tied to HIS FAITHFULNESS. Moses started at 80. Abraham at 75. Nothing is impossible with God. My mortgage is not my master—my FATHER is. New beginnings are my INHERITANCE.
The Father isn't shaking His head at your 'irresponsible' dreams—He's the one PLANTING them. He didn't give you that restlessness to torture you. He gave it to MOVE you. He makes roads in wildernesses.
