"I'm too old to hear God clearly—my spiritual senses are dull now."
How it sounds in your head: You pray but it feels like static. You read Scripture but it's just words. Maybe God speaks to younger people with sharper minds. Your memory fails—how can you trust what you hear?
"And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions."
-- Joel 2:28Enemy confusion exploiting cognitive changes to sever spiritual confidence.
Your memory does fail. Concentration is harder. You forget names, lose thoughts mid-sentence. Why would spiritual hearing be different?
Elderly man, waiting for years for one promise. The Holy Spirit REVEALED to him he wouldn't die until he saw the Messiah. One day the Spirit TOLD him 'Go to the temple NOW.' He obeyed, held baby Jesus, and prophesied over Him. Perfect hearing at advanced age.
I REFUSE the lie that age dulls my spiritual hearing. IT IS WRITTEN that old men shall dream dreams—God PROMISES revelation to the aged. I am a sheep of His pasture and His sheep HEAR His voice. The BARAK blessing includes supernatural wisdom and discernment. IT IS WRITTEN the Holy Spirit will guide me into all truth. Simeon heard perfectly at 80+. My spiritual ears are sharp.
Right now the Father is speaking over you the same way He spoke over Jesus—'This is My beloved son in whom I am well pleased.' Not because of sharp memory but because of covenant. He's about to give you a dream that changes everything.
