"I'm always passed over for the good opportunities. I never get chosen first."
How it sounds in your head: Last pick in gym class. Benched during the big game. Friend groups form and I'm the afterthought invite. Everyone else gets the solo, the lead role, the recognition.
"But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'"
-- 1 Samuel 16:7Religious spirit of 'not chosen' that attacks identity before it solidifies into confidence.
He's watched cooler, louder, more athletic kids get picked repeatedly while he stands waiting. The pattern feels like proof of permanent second-tier status.
David wasn't even invited to the prophet's selection ceremony—his own father forgot him and left him with the sheep. Samuel looked at seven brothers and God said NO to all of them, then DEMANDED the forgotten youngest son—who was INSTANTLY anointed king over all his 'better' brothers.
I REFUSE the lie that being passed over by people means I'm passed over by God. IT IS WRITTEN that man looks at outward appearance but God looks at the heart—which means Heaven's draft picks are OPPOSITE of earth's. When I get benched, overlooked, or forgotten, I am being RESERVED for assignments my critics can't imagine. I am the SEED OF ABRAHAM, chosen before the foundation of the world. IT IS WRITTEN that God chose the foolish things to shame the wise. Last pick on earth means FIRST CHOICE in Heaven. I am selected, anointed, and appointed.
The Father isn't waiting for you to be more impressive to choose you—He ALREADY chose you before coaches, casting directors, or friend groups existed. Being forgotten in the field means you're about to be anointed king.
