"I'm too old now and missed the window when relationships happen naturally."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone met their person in college or through young adult groups. Now I'm almost thirty and the easy opportunities are gone. Dating at this age is harder, more baggage, fewer options. I missed the natural season and now it's forced.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Cultural timeline lie that says relationships have an expiration date on ease and quality.
Your friends who are married did mostly meet younger, and dating now feels more complicated with people carrying more history. The cultural narrative says you missed the 'natural' season.
Ruth was a widowed foreigner with a complicated past who ended up gleaning in fields just to survive. Boaz was older, unmarried, and not the first choice (there was a closer relative). God brought them together 'late' by cultural standards, and they became part of Jesus' lineage—better than any 'natural' college romance.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too old or missed the window for natural relationship. IT IS WRITTEN that my Father restores the years the locusts have eaten—what I think I missed is actually being RESTORED and MULTIPLIED. There is no expiration date on covenant promises. IT IS WRITTEN that He does exceedingly abundantly above what I can ask or imagine, and that includes the relationship coming that's better than what I think I missed. I am Abraham's seed, blessed coming in and going out, and the BARAK blessing doesn't consult cultural timelines. My Father is not giving me leftovers because I'm late—He's orchestrating divine connection that redeems and multiplies every year that felt lost. His timing is PERFECT GRACE, not punishment.
Your Father isn't shrugging at your age like you missed the sale. He's the God of RESTORATION who gives back what was eaten, multiplied. He brought Boaz and Ruth together 'late' and made them part of Jesus' story—your timeline isn't too late, it's being written into something better.
