"I'm too much for people. My intensity drives friends away and always has."
How it sounds in your head: You've been told your whole life you're 'too emotional,' 'too passionate,' 'too opinionated.' Friends have pulled back when you get excited or go deep too fast. You've learned to mute yourself, but even muted you watch people's eyes glaze over.
"You have ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; you have ravished my heart with one look of your eyes."
-- Song of Solomon 4:9Trauma + religion: repeated rejection created belief that authentic self is repellent; religious culture punished women's passion.
You have actual memories of friends saying you're 'a lot' or creating distance after you shared your real thoughts. You've watched quieter women get invited to things you weren't. The pattern feels undeniable.
Mary broke open expensive perfume and poured it on Jesus' feet, wiping them with her hair—an act so intense and extravagant that Judas criticized it as wasteful. Jesus defended her 'too much' worship and said she'd be remembered forever for it.
I REFUSE the lie that my passion is a problem. IT IS WRITTEN that I ravish the Father's heart with one look, and what He delights in, He will bring friends to celebrate. I am NOT too much—I am exactly the intensity He designed, and my fire will attract the right people. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in the city and the field, blessed coming in and going out, and that blessing includes friendships that WANT my full self. I silence every voice that told me to shrink, be quieter, tone it down. I am the BARAK blessed, and my intensity is part of the favor package.
The Father is running toward you with friends who have been PRAYING for someone with your passion, your depth, your willingness to go there. What exhausted the wrong people will energize the right ones, and He's already orchestrating those connections.
