"I'm too much and not enough at the same time—impossible to love correctly."
How it sounds in your head: Too emotional but not fun enough. Too quiet but too intense. Too needy but too independent. You're constantly reading the room, adjusting, never getting it right. Whatever you are, it's always the wrong amount.
"To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved."
-- Ephesians 1:6World's impossible standards for girls—be perfect contradictions, then feel broken when it's impossible.
You get conflicting feedback constantly. Be confident but not conceited. Speak up but don't dominate. Care deeply but don't be dramatic. Every direction you move is wrong, proving you're fundamentally unlovable as you are.
Poured expensive perfume on Jesus' feet—too much, too extravagant, too emotional, wasteful by Judas's calculation. Jesus defended her immediately: 'Let her alone, she's done a beautiful thing'—her 'too much' was exactly right, remembered forever in Scripture as the correct response while critics were rebuked.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too much and not enough. IT IS WRITTEN that I am accepted in the Beloved—the exact amount of me is exactly right. I don't need to shrink or expand to be lovable. The BARAK blessing celebrates who I am, not who I'm pretending to be. IT IS WRITTEN in Colossians 2:10 that I am complete in Him—not lacking, not excessive, COMPLETE. I am the head and not the tail, perfectly loved as I am.
The Father isn't asking you to calibrate yourself to impossible standards—He's delighting in exactly who you are right now. Like the prodigal embraced mid-speech, mid-mess, you're celebrated for showing up as yourself, not performing a perfect version.
