"I'm too emotional for a guy. Real men don't feel this much or cry."
How it sounds in your head: I cry at movies, get hurt easily, and feel everything so deeply it's embarrassing. Other guys seem tough and unfazed. I feel like a girl trapped in a guy's body, and it's humiliating. Maybe I'm just weak.
"Jesus wept."
-- John 11:35Source: Toxic masculinity lie from the world that mistakes emotional suppression for strength and numbness for maturity.
Every time you show emotion, someone says 'man up' or 'don't be a girl.' The guys who seem emotionless get respect, and your sensitivity gets you mocked, so it feels like a fatal flaw.
Jeremiah was called 'the weeping prophet' who cried so much he wished his head was a fountain of tears. God didn't tell him to toughen up—He used him to write Scripture and called him a prophet to nations.
I REFUSE the lie that emotions are weakness. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus wept, and He is the definition of true manhood. My feelings are not a defect—they are CAPACITY to love deeply, grieve honestly, and connect truly. IT IS WRITTEN that the weeping prophet Jeremiah spoke for God to nations. I am blessed with the BARAK of Abraham, protected like Isaac even when I'm vulnerable. Christ redeemed me from the curse of toxic masculinity. I am the HEAD, not the tail. My emotional depth will heal people that numb men can't reach.
The Father isn't waiting for you to stop feeling—He's collecting every tear in a bottle because they're precious to Him. Your sensitivity isn't a mistake; it's the very thing that will let you pastor the brokenhearted when stone-faced men walk past them.
