"I'm too close to death for healing to matter. It's too late—I should just prepare to die."
How it sounds in your head: Even if God could heal me, what's the point? I'm 93 with multiple organ failures. Healing would just delay the inevitable. It's more realistic to make peace with dying than to grasp for a miracle this late.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Fatalistic resignation that makes death feel more powerful than the Resurrection, forgetting that God specializes in the IMPOSSIBLE and dead ends.
His doctors have used phrases like 'managing decline' and 'comfort care,' and everyone around him is preparing for his death. Fighting for healing feels like denial, while accepting death feels like maturity and realism.
Lazarus had been DEAD for FOUR DAYS—decomposing, stinking, beyond all medical or natural hope, already buried. Jesus spoke ONE WORD and death REVERSED—instant resurrection, complete restoration, impossible situation made possible.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too close to death for healing to matter. IT IS WRITTEN: I will restore the years the locust has eaten. God added FIFTEEN YEARS to Hezekiah when he was supposed to die. Jesus raised Lazarus after FOUR DAYS DEAD. I am under the BARAK blessing—the covenant that made Abraham's dead body produce a son at 100 years old. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The same resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in ME by the Holy Spirit. My age doesn't limit God's ability. It's NEVER too late for the God who resurrects.
The Father isn't looking at your medical chart and saying 'not worth it'—He's the Father who RAN toward the son who'd blown EVERYTHING, who had NOTHING left, who deserved NOTHING, and threw him a PARTY. God doesn't calculate return on investment before He moves. He moves because He's GOOD, and it's NEVER too late for goodness.
