"I'm the friend people tolerate, not the one they actually want around."
How it sounds in your head: You're always the one initiating plans. When you don't reach out, the silence is deafening. You're in the group chat, but you're not really IN the group—you're the side character in everyone else's main story.
"You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you."
-- John 15:16Rejection trauma combined with enemy accusation—twisting your perception to see yourself as peripheral when God calls you central.
The plans happen without you being invited until you awkwardly ask about it. Your jokes land flat. People respond to your texts with one word. You've learned to laugh along while feeling invisible.
Mephibosheth was crippled, hiding in obscurity, convinced he was worthless ('a dead dog'). King David SOUGHT HIM OUT, brought him to the palace, gave him permanent place at the king's table, and restored all his grandfather's wealth—not because Mephibosheth earned it, but because of covenant love.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm merely tolerated by people. IT IS WRITTEN that I did not choose God but HE CHOSE ME and appointed me for purpose. I declare I am not a side character—I am handpicked by the King of heaven who doesn't settle or make mistakes. IT IS WRITTEN that I was chosen before the foundation of the world, which means my value was established before any human opinion existed. The BARAK blessing of favor is on my life—I have divine favor that transcends human acceptance. I am wanted, chosen, and appointed by the One whose opinion is the only one that defines me.
The Father doesn't tolerate you at His table—He SOUGHT you out like David seeking Mephibosheth and gave you permanent place there. Not because you're impressive, but because He genuinely delights in you.
