"I'm secretly incompetent and it will eventually show."
How it sounds in your head: You're faking competence through Google and good guessing. Eventually a situation will arise that exposes you as actually having no idea what you're doing. You're a house of cards.
"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God."
-- 2 Corinthians 3:5Perfectionism paired with comparison, creating impossible standards where anything less than omniscience feels like fraud.
You don't know EVERYTHING, so your brain labels you as knowing NOTHING. Every question you can't answer feels like evidence of comprehensive incompetence instead of normal human limitation.
Called to build the Tabernacle with zero experience in sacred architecture. God filled him with His Spirit, with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge in ALL KINDS of craftsmanship—INSTANT competence through divine impartation, not years of training.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm secretly incompetent. IT IS WRITTEN that my sufficiency is FROM GOD, not from my own ability to know everything. I am a branch connected to the Vine, and apart from Him I can do nothing—but IN Him, competence flows automatically. IT IS WRITTEN that He filled Bezalel with wisdom and skill INSTANTLY for the work—no decades of training required, just divine impartation. My confidence is not in my comprehensive knowledge but in HIS ability to give me what I need WHEN I need it. The BARAK blessing includes supernatural wisdom—Solomon asked and received it IMMEDIATELY, and 1 Corinthians 1:30 says Christ BECAME wisdom for me.
The Father isn't expecting you to be all-knowing—He's offering to be your Source. Your adequacy flows FROM Him, not from mastering every skill independently. He delights in giving wisdom liberally to those who ask.
