"I'm not spiritually mature enough—real Christians have it together and I'm still a mess."
How it sounds in your head: I can't pray like them. My Bible reading is inconsistent. I still struggle with the same sins. If they knew what I was really like, they'd know I'm not a real Christian.
"And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."
-- Colossians 2:10Source: religion + performance-based church culture + older brother mentality that measures righteousness by behavior.
Other Christians seem so put together—they pray eloquently, quote Scripture naturally, don't seem to struggle like you do. Your inconsistency feels like proof you're failing at faith.
Denied Jesus three times, went back to fishing like the whole thing never happened. Jesus didn't make him prove himself or go through spiritual boot camp—He restored him instantly and told him to feed His sheep. From denier to shepherd in one conversation.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm not spiritually mature enough. IT IS WRITTEN that I am COMPLETE in Him—not becoming complete, not working toward complete, but COMPLETE right now. My righteousness is GIFT, not achievement. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO CONDEMNATION for me in Christ—not for my inconsistency, not for my struggles, NONE. I don't earn maturity through performance; I receive it through position. I am a branch connected to the Vine, and the Vine produces fruit THROUGH me as I abide. My job is connection, not production.
While you're ashamed of your inconsistency, He sees you COMPLETE in Christ—fully righteous, fully mature, fully His. He's not waiting for you to get it together; He's delighting in you RIGHT NOW.
