"I'm not beautiful or desirable anymore—my value disappeared with my youth."
How it sounds in your head: The world stopped seeing you. Men look through you, not at you. Grandchildren call you 'cute' like a child. Your husband doesn't initiate like he used to. Magazine covers don't feature your age. You feel invisible, irrelevant, past your expiration date as a woman.
"Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come."
-- Proverbs 31:25Culture worships youth and equates a woman's value with sexual desirability; enemy uses aging as erasure of identity.
Media is merciless. Your body has changed. Society marginalizes older women. The beauty industry targets your 'flaws.' Even churches focus on young moms and neglect your stage.
Elderly, barren, past childbearing years—society had written her off as a tragic failure. God chose HER to carry John the Baptist, removed her 'reproach,' and made her story one of the most celebrated in Scripture—her 'decline' years became her GLORY years.
I REFUSE the lie that my value expired with my youth. IT IS WRITTEN that strength and honor are my clothing and I shall rejoice in time to come—my BEST is still ahead. My beauty isn't measured by culture's standards but by Heaven's: the incorruptible beauty of a gentle spirit, which is VERY PRECIOUS to God. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 46:4 that even to my old age He is the same, and even to gray hairs He will carry me. I am the Bride of Christ, and He calls me BEAUTIFUL, WITHOUT SPOT OR WRINKLE. I declare that I am SEEN, VALUED, CELEBRATED, and LOVED by the King of Kings.
The Father looks at you and sees RADIANT BEAUTY—not because of what your body looks like, but because you're clothed in Christ's righteousness. He's never stopped seeing you as His Beloved, and His desire for intimacy with you hasn't diminished one bit.
