"I'm losing ground to the enemy every day and slipping further into darkness."
How it sounds in your head: I used to feel closer to God but now I feel numb, distant, dark. Every day I slip a little more. The devil is pulling me away and I don't have the strength to hold on.
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
-- Romans 8:38-39Source: Enemy accusation exploiting spiritual dryness, combined with religious teaching that measures relationship with God by FEELINGS instead of covenant POSITION.
You DON'T feel close to God right now. Worship feels empty, prayer feels like talking to the ceiling, the Bible feels boring. When you're taught that feelings equal spiritual health, numbness feels like backsliding. The fear of 'losing your faith' makes every bad day feel like proof you're slipping away.
Peter DENIED Jesus three times, cursed, swore he didn't know Him—complete failure and abandonment at Jesus's darkest hour. After resurrection, Jesus didn't reject him or make him prove himself. He restored him INSTANTLY, asked 'Do you love Me?' three times, and gave him the KEYS to the church. No process, no probation—immediate full restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm losing ground to the enemy. IT IS WRITTEN that NOTHING can separate me from the love of God—not my feelings, not my doubts, not my dryness. I am HELD by Him, sealed by the Spirit, hidden in Christ. IT IS WRITTEN that He who began a good work in me will COMPLETE it. I'm not slipping into darkness—I'm standing in the LIGHT because Jesus is the Light in me. The enemy has no power to pull me away from what God has secured. I am HIS and He doesn't let go.
The Father is running toward you like He did Peter—seeing your denial and dryness not as disqualification but as the setup for RESTORATION. You're not slipping away; you're being held tighter than you can imagine, even when you can't feel it.
