"I'm leading a double life and it's only a matter of time before people see the real me."
How it sounds in your head: Sunday you're worshiping. Monday you're compromising. You're a fraud in both worlds—not holy enough for church, not free enough for the world. The collision is coming.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Religious performance culture that measures spirituality by behavior consistency instead of covenant identity.
He feels like an imposter in every space—too worldly for ministry friends, too religious for work friends. The exhaustion of managing two identities feels unsustainable.
Matthew was actively embezzling from his own people, working for Rome, when Jesus called him. Jesus didn't say 'quit your job, clean up, then follow me.' He said 'Follow me'—and that SAME DAY Matthew threw a party with all his sinner friends and Jesus attended.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm living a double life. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a NEW CREATION—not becoming, but AM. The old has passed; the new has come. My identity isn't determined by my worst moment or my best Sunday. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ. I'm not a fraud; I'm a son learning to walk in freedom. The Father doesn't see two versions of me—He sees ONE son covered by the blood. I am Abraham's seed, blessed by covenant, not performance.
The Father doesn't see Sunday-you versus Monday-you—He sees His Son's righteousness covering ALL of you. You're not managing a double life; you're discovering your REAL life in Him.
