"I'm just waiting to die—there's nothing left but the end."
How it sounds in your head: Every day is the same. Wake up, wait, sleep, repeat. I'm not living; I'm just existing until my body finally gives out. Life is behind me. Death is ahead. This middle space is just… nothing.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Enemy lie stealing present-moment life by focusing entirely on future death.
Limited mobility, no 'productive' activities, days blend together in monotonous routine. She feels like she's in a waiting room with no appointment time, just suspended until the end.
Simeon was old, waiting to die, told by the Spirit he wouldn't die until he saw the Messiah. When he held baby Jesus, he didn't say 'finally I can die'—he said 'NOW I have SEEN salvation,' and his last season became his MOST GLORIOUS, seeing what prophets longed to see.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm just waiting to die or that there's nothing left but the end. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to give me LIFE, and give it MORE ABUNDANTLY—not abundant life until old age, but abundant life RIGHT NOW, IN THIS MOMENT. IT IS WRITTEN that in His presence is fullness of joy, and I am IN His presence every second of every day. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with the BARAK, and the blessing is LIFE, not mere existence. I am NOT in a waiting room; I am in the PRESENCE of the Living God, and every breath is ABUNDANT, MEANINGFUL, and FULL of His nearness. I am ALIVE in Christ, and that life is ETERNAL, starting NOW.
The Father isn't keeping you alive to suffer—He's keeping you alive because there is LIFE, ABUNDANT LIFE, in His presence, and every moment you breathe is a moment you get to BE WITH HIM, closer than you've ever been. You're not waiting to die; you're learning to LIVE in the place most people never find—complete rest in His arms.
